Spinner Promoted to ceo of Performance Food Group



{mosimage}Spinner, who is currently president and coo, a position he has held since May 2005, will assume his new responsibilities on Oct. 1. He will succeed Robert C. Sledd, who will continue as chairman of the company's board of directors, a position he has held since 1995.

Spinner, 46, previously served as senior vice president of Performance Food Group and ceo of the broadline segment from February 2002 to May 2005, broadline segment president from August 2001 to February 2002, and broadline regional president from October 2000 to August 2001. Spinner also served as president of AFI Foodservice Distributors, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, from October 1997 to October 2000 and as vice president from 1989 to October 1997.

Commenting on the announcement, Sledd said, "Steve has been a key member of our management team and has been instrumental in driving our company's growth and initiatives over the past several years. Steve's succession to ceo is a testament to his proven abilities to lead our Company forward. I am confident in Steve and our outstanding senior management team, who together have guided our Company to more than $5.7 billion in sales in 2005. Most importantly, I want to thank our dedicated associates who work tirelessly every day to serve the needs of our customers."

Spinner observed, "Bob has successfully guided Performance Food Group since its inception and has been an invaluable mentor to me.
