Sysco Names New Executive at Ontario Unit



Christie, who currently serves as senior vice president of that operation, will assume his new position effective July 2, the beginning of Sysco's fiscal year 2007.

Christie, 43, began his Sysco career in 1997 as a category manager for the Peterborough operation, advancing to merchandising manager the following year. In 2000 he was named director of merchandising and marketing, progressing to senior director of merchandising and marketing the following year and then vice president of merchandising and marketing in 2002. In 2004 he was appointed to his current position. Prior to joining Sysco, he served for 13 years in sales and management capacities with other foodservice firms.

Christie was born and raised in Campbellford, Ontario. He is a 1985 graduate of Sir Sanford Fleming College, where he earned a diploma in Business Administration majoring in sales and marketing. He and his wife, Cheryl, have two sons and reside in Peterborough.
