Theiss Named Ass



Theiss, who currently serves as Sysco's senior director of supply chain management, will assume his new role effective Jan. 1, 2007.

Theiss, 47, is a 22-year Sysco veteran. He began his career in 1984 as a merchandiser for the company's Albany, NY, operation and in 1988 was promoted to director of merchandising. In 1991, Theiss relocated to Sysco's Jamestown, NY, subsidiary to serve as vice president of merchandising and marketing, a position he held until 1999, when he became senior vice president of that operation. In 2001 he relocated to Sysco's corporate headquarters, located in Houston, to serve in his current capacity.

Born and raised in Fishkill, NY, Theiss is a 1984 graduate of Siena College, located in Loudonville, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He and his wife, Barbara Anne, have two sons and a daughter and reside in Katy, Texas.
