But Foxtail is adhering to more of a "third place" philosophy, a professed belief that customers are seeking a place to chill out as much as a quick caffeine jolt. "Coffee should be purposeful, celebrated and enjoyed," served in "inviting and comfortable spaces," its website contends. For those reasons, there's an emphasis on the in-store experience. The brand also isn't racing like many of its competitors to dot the country with stores. After eight years in operation, the bulk of its 68 stores are in the company's home state of Florida.
